Oneness Events

How can the divine Oneness be seen?
In beautiful forms, breathtaking wonders,
awe-inspiring miracles?
The Tao is not obliged to present itself
in this way.

If you are willing to be lived by it, you will
see it everywhere, even in the most
ordinary things.

Changing the Story

Seminar with Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
June 29, 2013, 10am - 4:30pm
Mercy Center, Burlingame, CA

“The only way to change the world is to change the story."

The real stories that can change our lives come from the mythic, archetypal world of the soul. What are the stories that are needed at this time, to help awaken us from the collective nightmare of materialism that is destroying our ecosystem? How can we work to bring these transformative stories into our communities and our daily life?

This event is cosponsored by the Mercy Center and The Golden Sufi Center.

Spiritual Ecology: A Spiritual Response to our Present Ecological Crisis

Seminar with Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee
July 11, 2013, 7:00pm - 9:00pm
California Institute of Integral Studies, San Francisco, CA

Spiritual Ecology is a spiritual response to our present ecological crisis. The signs of global imbalance, climate change, the extinction of species, are not just physical symptoms. As Thich Nhat Hanh writes, these are “bells of mindfulness,” calling us to be attentive, to wake up and listen. The earth needs our attention. It needs us to help heal its body, damaged by our exploitation, and also its soul, wounded by our desecration, our forgetfulness of its sacred nature. We need to act from a place of real awareness, attentive to the outer and inner need of the earth. Only when we remember what is sacred canwe bring true understanding to our present predicament.

This talk will explore this most pressing need of our time: how we are facing not just a physical ecological crisis but also a spiritual crisis, one that demands a spiritual response from each of us.

Spiritual Ecology: The Cry of the Earth - An Evening with Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

Hosted by Point Reyes Books
July 27, 2013, 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Dance Palace, Point Reyes Station, California

Tickets:  $15

Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee will speak about his new book, Spiritual Ecology: The Cry of the Earth. For the past few years he has been writing and lecturing about the need for a spiritual response to our present ecological crisis. Following this he has recently compiled the book, which is collection of essays by different spiritual teachers, scientists, Indigenous leaders, and others articulating this pressing need.

Our present ecological crisis is undeniably the greatest man-made disaster this planet has ever faced—its accelerating climate change, species depletion, pollution and acidification of the oceans. A central but rarely addressed aspect of this crisis is our forgetfulness of the sacred nature of creation, and how this affects our relationship to the environment.

Only when we remember what is sacred can we bring true understanding to our present predicament. This talk will explore this most pressing need of our time: how we are facing not just a physical ecological crisis but also a spiritual crisis, one that demands a spiritual response from each of us.

The talk will be followed by time for questions. Tea and refreshments will be provided.

Deep inside every human being there is a place that connects us with our primal nature and gives us access to an inner wisdom. If individuals or groups make a connection with this inner core, they access the universal knowledge of unity and thus experience life from a broader perspective. The Oneness Center offers a space that allows us to learn how to access this simple and yet dynamic state of oneness individually and collectively, bringing it into our daily lives.

Elemental - Special Prescreening

1. February 2013, Bern at the Oneness Center
7pm - approx 10pm

To realize the film "Elemental" the Global Oneness Project team filmed across three continents. The documentary not only talks about the most pressing ecological challenges of our time, but it also tells the story of three individuals united by their deep connection with nature and driven to confront some of those challenges.

The film follows an Indian government official gone rogue on a 40-day pilgrimage down India's once pristine Ganges river, now polluted and dying. It shows the "David and Goliath" struggle against the world's largest industrial development, the Tar Sands, across the globe in norhtern Canada and in Australia an entrepreneuer's search for inverstors willing to risk millions on his conviction that nature's own systems hold the key to our world's ecological problems.

A Compass for Thinking

Nathalie Knapp reads from her latest book that will be published in March
8. March 2013, Bern at the Oneness Center
7pm - 8:40pm

In a fast and complex world our habitual ways of thinking don't work any longer. More and more people cannot cope wit the demands of our time any more. The feeling of being unable to cope has become the background noise of modern life. we should, however, get used to unexpected events upsetting our plans and strategies. We not only have to learn to live with insecurities and react flexibly but we we also need to understand that they are a new quality. Instead of holdingon to plans we have made we need to be able to think in new ways and find unexpected solutions. With its practical philosophy, Nahalie Knapp's latest book holds the key to learning how to deal properly with complexity and find a new sense of direction in order to look towards the future confidently.

Breath and Silence - Being Connected

24. May 2013, Bern at the Oneness Center
4:30pm - 7:30pm, Seminar with Ursula Hofer

As human being we are never alone. In every moment of our lives we are connected with our deepest origin and with all of creation. Since we have never learned to relate to being one with everything consciously, we often feel isolated and left alone. If, however, we dare to be more attentive to this natural state of being, new oportunities that are alive and creative can surface. We begin to understand what life is really about. The breath links everything in the interplay of creation for everything moves in the big rhythm of the breath. The more we become consious of the breath, the more we feel what is real and that everything is interconnected. This experience gives us joy and trust. Through breathing exercises, meditation and texts the seminar gives impulses that allow us to get a taste of how that natural state of being connected can be experienced in our everyday lives.
